Description

Welcoming the goddess of Night

When night sets in and the day is gone,
finally daylights hustle and bustle is done.
The rising moon enlightens nights canopy,
and infinite stars above blink from eternity.

These are those hours I at times love the best,
when everything feels so peaceful, quiet and at rest.
Gods unlimited skies shining so beautiful and kind.
inviting us to reach out, connect, open heart, soul & mind.

Cicadas and ocean waves playing their relaxing lullaby,
Great Mother helps to rest in a comfy and cozy way.
Goddess of night lets us dream of the ancient days,
and dares us to live in more spiritual ways.

Ratri in India, Nyx for the Greek Nox for the Romans and Nut for the old Egyptians.

Ratri is one of the ancient Vedic Gods who existed before the Hindu Pantheon. The personification of darkness, she and her sister, Ushas, the dawn-goddess, were often pursued by Surya, the sun-god. Ratri was also perceived as the guardian of law and order in the universe and the waves of time. She is generally a benign entity who offers rest and renewed vigor and who was also invoked to ensure safety through hours of darkness. She deposited the gift of morning dew as well as the harbinger of a bleaker aspect of one who brings gloom and barrenness

Athtor Egyptian Goddess was called by the name 'Mother of the Night, the element covering the infinite abyss - Nut egyptian goddess the sky, the firmament covered with stars - Taoniui, polynesian Goddess of the stars

There are different lores about the origin of Nyx: Like Gaia and Erebos, Nyx arises from the Ur-Chaos. In the lore of the Orphiker she was there from the very beginnings.

Many myth researchers nowadays assume, that Nox is an ancient goddess from matriarchal times. In the values of the matriarchal cultures, the night was of higher value than the day and was before the day So Nox was worshipped as the initial night and as one of the oldest goddesses/gods at all.

The story I saw when I looked at this work of art was one of warmth and peace that can come with the closing of the day. Calm seas and a Lighthouse with a beautiful sunset.

Then comes in the beauty of the night. She glides through and changes the sky and surroundings but in such an elegant way that blends so well with the Sunset. It is the first time that the cloak of darkness has been so well represented in a work of art that makes this a memorable work of art. Her gown of Night with stars so bright and the beauty and serene look on her face makes one believe that it is going to be a safe night for those on the waters and on land.

There is such a calmness and beauty in this work of art. The artist created a wonderful Sunset but by adding the Night it makes a magical and wonderful work of art to look at and get lost for a little while. The story it tells and the calmness it brings, especially with all its color make this a splendid work of art
